Spirometry is a simple test which is used to measure the air that each individual can breathe. It is the check-up of the proper functioning of the lungs, which everyone should do regularly, like getting maintenance done on a car. It is considered a vital sign like the heart rate, the body temperature, the blood pressure and the respiratory rate.

Lung Function Testing during COVID-19 pandemic

Transmission of Corona virus during lung function procedure can occur also via aerosolised respiratory secretions (during cough and sneezing). MIR devices are compatible with the use of in-line filters as recommended by the ERS statement on lung function during COVID-19.

Oximetry, Yes Please!

Many patients with COVID-19 disease have low oxygen levels even when they are feeling well. Low oxygen levels can be an early warning sign that medical intervention is needed.
